If you’re a fan of gardening, you may also want to try adding some peppermint plants to your hanging baskets and other flower arrangements!
DIY Wasp Traps
Wasp traps can also be quite effective. The trick is to attract wasps inside with something appealing and once inside, they can’t escape. It can be pretty simple, and often you can make these at home. The most preferred method is simply cutting off the top of a bottle and adding the appealing substance inside the bottom of the bottle.

Tightly Seal Bins

To avoid this becoming an issue for you, make sure that your bin lids are tightly sealed so these pests have no access to get hold of your never-ending food source.

Using decorative wasp decoys is a great way to stop wasps from gathering in your home. Wasps are extremely territorial and they will not build their nest near another. Start by placing one or two decoy nests around your garden to detract the pests away from your home. This technique works best if you start planting the decoys in the spring, as this is the prime time for wasps coming out of hibernation and beginning to build their nest.
